ABOUT THE PITCH:
Freeform reached out with the desire of revamping their 31 Nights of Halloween in conjunction to their recent channel rebrand ( by Collins) and we were excited to presented them with our concept Saul Bash.
Saul Bash is flat, minimal graphic style inspired by the works of Saul Bass, Henri Matisse and other “shapers”. In this concept, we take shapes, unexpected compositions, and Freeform’s poppy colors and combine them into bite-sized design stories. This scary fun package fits right in with the Freeform brand presenting a fresh take on the classics of spooky season - The Goonies, Alien, Ghostbusters and more.
Throughout Saul Bash, we take a versatile approach of color pairings across the package mirroring Freeform’s diversity of multi-palette-pairing as well.
To accomplish this diversity in a halloween-esque manner, we are using the pairing of 3 combinations that emulates poppy and happy tones through hot pink while sprinkling classic but not overused Halloween tones via violet and red-like orange. Our usage of black is present and consistent thoughtfully while not coming off too overpowering nor gothic.
Although this was not a selected concept, we had a blast working on this pitch!
